Tropical Seafood Pizza


Pineapple, shrimp, imitation crab meat, cuttlefish, muscles, cheese and Thousand Island's sauce.

Next time you are ordering pizza with people that you sort of know, and one of them says "How'bout the Seafood pizza?" Try to refrain from the polite response of "Um, OK, if you want."

The appropriate response is: "ABSOLUTELY NOT!"

At least we got a free umbrella on our way out. Cha-ching!

Well, I wouldn't like it either if it had "muscles" on it. Some of them taste a bit "gamy" depending on what animal it comes from: gibbon, rhinoceros, etc. Now, if the pizza had "mussels" on it, maybe it would have been better. :-)

Many people ask me how I got into studying gibbons for a living, and quite honestly there is no direct answer to that question, because it wasn’t a direct route. When I was growing up in Burlington, I wanted to be many things: first on the list (so I’m told by my parents) was a “ballerina hockey player” but that’s too far back for me to even remember saying, and I don’t really dance or skate these days so that was probably a bit of a stretch.
